Qualifications for the Position

Required:

  • A follower of Jesus who serves as an example to children in the church

  • Aligns with the beliefs and traditional Wesleyan theology of the Global Methodist Church

  • Creative event planner and excellent communicator with children and their parents

  • Experience leading a team of volunteers and paid workers

  • Able to consistently attend most Sunday church services

  • Able to consistently attend FVMC committee and council meetings

  • Able to attend and successfully complete on-going training/continuing education

  • Competent with social media, email, web, and also print methods to communicate Children’s Ministry events and activities to the church and community

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or some Biblical/Theological training in Christian education

Working Environment and Compensation

Purchasing & Budget
• Authorize purchases of kitchen equipment, food, and consumable supplies to support the church’s food ministry.

Event Coordination & Support
• Provide consultative support and coordination for weddings, receptions, and other fellowship events in accordance with church policy.

Hospitality & Volunteer Coordination
• Ensure coffee is made and available for all Sunday worship services—either by preparing it personally or coordinating a team of volunteers.
• Organize and lead volunteers to support various food service needs and events.

Kitchen & Facility Management
• Keep the church kitchen and food preparation areas clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Oversee the proper care, maintenance, and inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies.

• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or event coordination is strongly preferred.
