Key Roles/Tasks

+ Adapt methods and models to changes in technology and communication strategies to present the Gospel to children in relevant and innovative ways.
+ Coordinate the "MinistrySafe" Ministry Protection Policy and background check procedures for all children’s ministry staff and volunteers.
+ Plan summer and seasonal special events that serve as entry points for children and their families into the life of the church.
+ Involve children and their families in mission and outreach opportunities in Savannah and beyond.
+ Build a support system for children’s ministry volunteers through regular contact, encouragement, and training.

Budget & Purchasing: Oversee curriculum selection by considering age appropriateness and theological alignment of material; Create and manage the Children’s Ministry budget
Sunday Morning Service: Rotate serving in the Nursery, Children’s Church, and Children’s Sunday School as needed. (We desire this person to both be able to actively attend church service and serve in a way that lightens the volunteer need); Ensure volunteers and paid childcare workers are in place for Sunday Morning Service
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with Ministry Safe policies, training and background checks; Keep families and volunteers up to date of policy requirements
Qualifications for the Position
Required:
A follower of Jesus who serves as an example to children in the church
Aligns with the beliefs and traditional Wesleyan theology of the Global Methodist Church
Creative event planner and excellent communicator with children and their parents
Experience leading a team of volunteers and paid workers
Able to consistently attend most Sunday church services
Able to consistently attend FVMC committee and council meetings
Able to attend and successfully complete on-going training/continuing education
Competent with social media, email, web, and also print methods to communicate Children’s Ministry events and activities to the church and community
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree and/or some Biblical/Theological training in Christian education
Experience overseeing a budget
1-3 years’ experience in children's ministry or classroom teaching
Working Environment and Compensation
The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will maintain a flexible work schedule with the ability to work in office as well as remotely, subject to the approval of the Senior Pastor.
Compensation: $24,000 annually
Estimated Time Commitment: 20 to 25 hours per week

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Church Host/Hostess serves a vital role in fostering hospitality, fellowship, and ministry through the food service operations of the church. This individual is responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating all food-related services, events, and functions in alignment with the church's mission and policies. The Host/Hostess ensures a welcoming environment through well-executed meals and gatherings, and by maintaining an orderly and functional kitchen and fellowship area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Food Service Operations
• Plan, organize, and direct the preparation and service of food for regular fellowship meals, special events, banquets, and funeral lunches.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of all food-related operations, making improvements as needed.
Purchasing & Budget
• Authorize purchases of kitchen equipment, food, and consumable supplies to support the church’s food ministry.
• Recommend budget items related to food service operations.
• Maintain accurate records of all receipts and expenditures to ensure transparency and accountability.
Event Coordination & Support
• Provide consultative support and coordination for weddings, receptions, and other fellowship events in accordance with church policy.
• Be present, or arrange for a qualified representative to be present, at all weddings, funerals, receptions, banquets, and special events where food service areas or equipment are used, as directed by church policy.
Hospitality & Volunteer Coordination
• Ensure coffee is made and available for all Sunday worship services—either by preparing it personally or coordinating a team of volunteers.
• Organize and lead volunteers to support various food service needs and events.
Kitchen & Facility Management
• Keep the church kitchen and food preparation areas clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Oversee the proper care, maintenance, and inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or event coordination is strongly preferred.
