What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?

As the daughter of a Methodist pastor, I have been equipped with a deep-rooted understanding of our denomination’s Wesleyan theological and spiritual values.

I have been working at a local Global Methodist Church for about a year and a half as the office administrator, a job I found through the Wesley Foundation. In this position, I have worked with people of all ages to listen to their needs and provide for them in whatever ways I can. I have gained an understanding of the variety of people’s needs, concerns, and desires in their lives and the life of the church as it moves forward in the GMC. Along with my job, events like the Spirit & Truth and 2:42 Conferences have taught me more about the mission of our new denomination.

My experiences paired with my degree in interpersonal communication have taught me valuable skills; how to speak clearly and find common ground when differing ideas are presented, how to consider and implement ideas that I may not fully understand, how to make decisions in high-pressure situations, and various administrative skills such as organization and effective note-taking. I'm eager to faithfully serve the Global Methodist Church with these skills.

Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.

Through the Wesley Foundation College Ministry, I began to hear God’s call on my life. I served as a leadership volunteer and helped lead and coordinate the social media/hospitality team. The people I met there encouraged me and showed me how to go deeper into the scripture, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I built a community of believers around me. This community was pivotal in my spiritual growth.

I was able to attend the recent 2:42 Conference in Ohio. This was a huge blessing as I am in the process of discerning a call to ministry. At the conference, I was able to meet many people my age who are in various stages of seminary and discernment. I have started my application to Asbury Theological Seminary thanks to advice I received from people at the conference.

I have learned so much about the vision of the Global Methodist Church and the Way forward. As a young woman responding to God’s call to ministry, I am seeking opportunities to make a difference in my congregation and this new denomination. I have seen a fire in myself and my peers and a desire to seek Christ. I also believe God is calling me to help bridge generations within our church. The Holy Spirit is alive and on fire! It would be an honor to use my skills and experiences to help usher in peace and growth through the GMC.
