Mexico Partnership
South Georgia Conference of the Global Methodist Church
A Global Partnership for the Gospel
We exist to help local churches—and one of the ways we do that is by helping them reach the world.
The South Georgia Conference of the Global Methodist Church is in a partnership with the Mexico Transitional Conference of the Global Methodist Church for the purpose of sharing in ministry and mutual support.
Rev. David Almanza, Mexico’s Conference Superintendent, joined us at Annual Conference to formalize this partnership and share about the vibrant work of ministry happening across Mexico.
Though still in the early stages of development, the Mexico Conference is already experiencing meaningful growth as they faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Commitment
As part of this partnership, the South Georgia Conference has committed:
• $50,000 per year for five years
• Supporting church planting and conference development
• Building a lasting relationship of encouragement and shared mission
During our Annual Conference ordination service, South Georgia churches gave over $4,700 toward this mission. Thank you for your generosity!
Mexico Ministry Updates
Rev. Almanza and the Mexico Conference regularly share updates highlighting the growth and ministry taking place. These newsletters are available in both Spanish and English.

Why Mexico?
Here are a few realities shaping this mission field:
13 churches currently make up the Mexico GMC (and growing)
Mexico has a population of 129.7 million people
Approximately 92 million identify as Catholic, but fewer than 17% are actively engaged
Around 9 million people report no faith at all
Many former Methodists are seeking new church homes and are open to starting new congregations
There is a significant opportunity for church planting and Gospel renewal.
Join Us in Prayer
Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Mexico who are faithfully sharing Christ in their communities.
Pray for:
New churches to be planted
Strength and wisdom for pastors and leaders
The upcoming summer camp and the 300 students attending
A deep and fruitful partnership between our conferences
