General Conference Information

What is the General Conference?

The Global Methodist Church's (GM Church) General Conference is a gathering of delegates from around the world to make decisions about the church's future. The conference is the highest governing body of the Global Methodist Church. 

Starting in 2026 the conferences will meet in six year rotations.

Where and when is the 2026 General Conference?

The 2026 General Conference of the Global Methodist Church will take place August 30 – September 5, 2026, in the vibrant city of Johannesburg—a powerful and visible expression of our identity as a truly global church.
